La voix, \u00e0 la fois granuleuse, rocailleuse et sensuelle, d\u2019Emmanuel Djob, cr\u00e9ateur de la composition musicale, donne le ton. C\u2019est alors au tour de huit lutteurs (cinq venus du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal et dont c\u2019est le m\u00e9tier et trois danseurs) d\u2019entrer dans l\u2019ar\u00e8ne. Le rituel peut commencer. V\u00eatus d\u2019un simple boxer, les interpr\u00e8tes se parent d\u2019un tissu rouge enveloppant leur bassin, marquant leur taille. Le regard insistant vers le public, ils nous donnent \u00e0 voir leurs corps sculpturaux, leur musculature ultra d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e, mais aussi leur jeunesse.<\/strong><\/p><p>Le chor\u00e9graphe burkinab\u00e9, vivant entre Montpellier et Ouagadougou, Salia Sanou, nous entra\u00eene avec sa derni\u00e8re cr\u00e9ation <em>Clameur des ar\u00e8nes<\/em>, dans l\u2019univers de la lutte. Sport de combat tr\u00e8s r\u00e9pandu en Afrique, que Salia Sanou a lui-m\u00eame pratiqu\u00e9 enfant et adolescent.<\/p><p><em>Clameur des ar\u00e8nes<\/em> n\u2019est pas la repr\u00e9sentation sur sc\u00e8ne d\u2019un combat en tant que tel. C\u2019est une rencontre entre deux univers celui de la danse et de la lutte. Entour\u00e9 de cinq lutteurs et de trois danseurs, le chor\u00e9graphe s\u2019est appliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 mettre en lumi\u00e8re ce qui relie ces deux pratiques. Les rituels auxquels elles font r\u00e9f\u00e9rence dans la pr\u00e9paration du corps, la rigueur qu\u2019il demande pour \u00eatre performant, l\u2019adaptabilit\u00e9 et la mall\u00e9abilit\u00e9 face \u00e0 l\u2019autre. Rituels et pratiques ouvrant largement le champ d\u2019une gestuelle commune. Salia Sanou a ainsi d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 avec ses interpr\u00e8tes, des qualit\u00e9s de corps propres aux deux disciplines. Tensions, rel\u00e2chements les caract\u00e9risent en partie, tout autant que cette animalit\u00e9 inh\u00e9rente au combat et \u00e0 la survie. Souplesse et puissance coexistent en permanence.<\/p><p>Tout commence par un temps d\u2019observation, de parade, de d\u00e9fiance \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de l\u2019adversaire, mais aussi de complicit\u00e9 avec son \u00e9quipe (les lutteurs appartiennent toujours \u00e0 des \u00e9curies et ont pour r\u00e9f\u00e9rent un marabout). Une fois dans l\u2019ar\u00e8ne, il s\u2019agit d\u2019\u00eatre rapide et pr\u00e9cis si l\u2019on ne veut pas \u00eatre mis \u00e0 terre. Salia Sanou cr\u00e9e des ponts entre les mouvements effectu\u00e9s par les lutteurs dans leur pratique et ceux des danseurs, afin de s\u2019en \u00e9loigner et de trouver une terre commune. Il utilise le cercle, comme l\u2019espace du combat mais aussi comme r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux danses traditionnelles africaines, l\u2019entr\u00e9e et la sortie de celui-ci comme affirmation de l\u2019individualit\u00e9 et du collectif, \u00e9l\u00e9ments propres \u00e0 ces deux disciplines. Ces de ces ressemblances et proximit\u00e9s qu\u2019\u00e9mane la rencontre. Les corps des lutteurs impriment leurs empreintes sur ceux des danseurs et inversement.<\/p><p>Accompagn\u00e9s d\u2019une musique proche du funk et du groove des ann\u00e9es 70, et d\u2019une ambiance sonore li\u00e9e aux clameurs des ar\u00e8nes, les corps exultent une sensuelle masculinit\u00e9. Ils se jouent et se d\u00e9lectent de leur puissance, de cette exub\u00e9rante musculature (pour ce qui est des lutteurs plus que des danseurs, car clairement, les corps ne sont pas les-m\u00eames, \u00e7a se sent et se voit). Ne font parfois qu\u2019un. C\u2019est l\u2019occasion d\u2019une tr\u00e8s belle sc\u00e8ne, o\u00f9 les huit interpr\u00e8tes se retrouvent au fond du plateau et longent le mur de sacs rouges. Dans un jeu de cache cache, on ne per\u00e7oit plus que trois personnes qui se d\u00e9placent alors qu\u2019ils sont toujours bien huit. De la finesse de leurs mouvements et de ce d\u00e9placement collectif en total \u00e9coute, se d\u00e9gage une parfaite illusion.<\/p><p><em>Clameur des ar\u00e8nes<\/em> est une pi\u00e8ce, pleine d\u2019\u00e9nergie de part la pr\u00e9sence des danseurs, lutteurs, musiciens, mais aussi par cette sc\u00e9nographie tout en rouge et blanc qui tranche avec le corps pratiquement nu des interpr\u00e8tes. Salia Sanou r\u00e9ussit ce voyage, et cette rencontre entre deux disciplines, malgr\u00e9 la fragilit\u00e9 des transitions entre les diff\u00e9rentes parties. Il fait \u00e9merger une gestuelle unique. Gestuelle dans laquelle on reconna\u00eet bien s\u00fbr des influences li\u00e9es aux danses traditionnelles africaines notamment le sabar du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, ou des sauts frapp\u00e9s au sol venus d\u2019Afrique du Sud\u00a0; on reconna\u00eet aussi les c\u00e9r\u00e9moniels propres aux sports de combats.
