Une \u0153uvre puissante, \u00e0 la sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9 troublante, qui questionne la pratique professionnelle de la danse contemporaine. <\/strong><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">\u00c0 l\u2019origine de l\u2019amour de la danse de C\u00e9dric Andrieux, il y a les propos passionn\u00e9s de sa maman sur la danse contemporaine fran\u00e7aise naissante puis les mots, plus martiaux, qu\u2019ass\u00e8ne la s\u00e9v\u00e8re professeur Lydia Grant dans le g\u00e9n\u00e9rique de la s\u00e9rie TV <\/span><em style=\"font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">Fame<\/em><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">\u00a0: <\/span><em style=\"font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">\u00ab\u00a0Vous voulez la gloire. Et bien \u00e7a se paie en une seule monnaie\u00a0: la sueur\u00a0!\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">.<\/span><\/p><p>Seul sur le plateau de La Coursive, le jeune quadra, aujourd\u2019hui directeur artistique de la danse au Conservatoire de Paris, se raconte dans <em>C\u00e9dric Andrieux<\/em>, \u0153uvre sign\u00e9e du chor\u00e9graphe <strong>J\u00e9r\u00f4me Bel<\/strong>, cr\u00e9\u00e9e il y a maintenant 10 ans et qui refait surface \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du centenaire de la naissance de <strong>Merce Cunningham<\/strong>.<\/p><p>\u0152uvre hybride m\u00ealant confessions et passages dans\u00e9s, <em>C\u00e9dric Andrieux<\/em> est dans la droite lign\u00e9e des pi\u00e8ces du m\u00eame J\u00e9r\u00f4me Bel <em>V\u00e9ronique Doisneau<\/em> (2004) et &#8211; dans une moindre mesure &#8211; <em>Isadora Duncan<\/em> (2019)\u00a0: un regard r\u00e9trospectif et subjectif d\u2019un danseur sur son parcours et sa profession. On suit alors le long chemin (de croix) de l\u2019artiste Andrieux. Ses premier pas au Conservatoire de Paris <em>\u00ab\u00a0version fran\u00e7aise de Fame\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> o\u00f9 durant 4 ann\u00e9es, adolescent, il s\u2019\u00e9chine \u00e0 ma\u00eetriser les techniques Limon, Cunningham et autre Horton. Il en sort avec un Premier Prix \u00e0 20 ans malgr\u00e9 sa d\u00e9testation du syst\u00e8me de note et de classement inh\u00e9rent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tablissement. Puis c\u2019est l\u2019aventure new-yorkaise qui d\u00e9bute. D\u2019abord avec <strong>Jennifer Muller<\/strong> dont la compagnie <em>vivotante<\/em> ne permet pas au jeune danseur de vivre de son art. Il pose alors pour des \u00e9coles d\u2019art et multiplie les petits jobs jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que Merce Cunningham le rep\u00e8re lors d\u2019une audition. Nous sommes en 1999.<\/p><p>\u00c0 chaque chor\u00e9graphe cit\u00e9, C\u00e9dric Andrieux ex\u00e9cute un extrait de pi\u00e8ces. On savoure alors la d\u00e9licatesse du geste bagoutien, la libert\u00e9 et physicalit\u00e9 du mouvement mullerien, l\u2019intransigeance du <em>Biped <\/em>cunninghamien (1999). <em>\u00ab\u00a0Pour moi c\u2019\u00e9tait abstrait, c\u00e9r\u00e9bral, chiant m\u00eame\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> l\u00e2che l\u2019interpr\u00e8te \u00e0 propos de la danse du ma\u00eetre new-yorkais et d\u2019encha\u00eener le geste \u00e0 la parole en montrant au public un \u00e9chauffement-type.\u00a0 On y d\u00e9couvre les exercices propres aux dos, les 18 positions de bras, ce qu\u2019est un tilt puis cette mani\u00e8re toute particuli\u00e8re qu\u2019avait de chor\u00e9graphier Merce. Diabolique m\u00eame pour le plus dou\u00e9 des danseurs.<\/p><p>Combien de fois C\u00e9dric s\u2019est senti <em>\u00ab\u00a0comme une merde\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> \u00e0 New-York avant de devenir, \u00e0 force d\u2019abn\u00e9gation et de travail, le danseur embl\u00e9matique de Merce notamment en d\u00e9crochant le 1<sup>er<\/sup> r\u00f4le de <em>Suite for Five<\/em>, biographie dans\u00e9e de MC.<\/p><p>Avec <em>C\u00e9dric Andrieux<\/em>, le spectateur d\u00e9couvre \u2013 non sans humour \u2013 bien plus que les coulisses du m\u00e9tier de danseur. Plus qu\u2019un ex\u00e9cutant qui transpire et hal\u00e8te, il rencontre une personne qui pense son m\u00e9tier. Aussi C\u00e9dric Andrieux explique les raisons de son d\u00e9part des USA pour rejoindre le Ballet de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra de Lyon. Danser avec Merce Cunningham ne faisait plus sens, il lui fallait se frotter \u00e0 d\u2019autre univers\u00a0: celui de <strong>Trisha Brown<\/strong> aux mouvement naturels, de <strong>William Forsythe<\/strong> et d\u2019un certain J\u00e9r\u00f4me Bel qu\u2019il appr\u00e9hende avec <em>The Show mut go on<\/em> (2004). Il en interpr\u00e8te un extrait sur sc\u00e8ne &#8211; le <em>Every Breath You Take<\/em> de Police. Un passage o\u00f9 il ne se passe rien au plateau si ce n\u2019est le danseur regardant son public, \u00e9clair\u00e9 pour l\u2019occasion.<\/p><p><em>\u00ab\u00a0J\u2019aime bien danser du J\u00e9r\u00f4me Bel, on n\u2019a pas besoin de s\u2019\u00e9chauffer, on est s\u00fbr de ne pas se blesser\u00a0\u00bb <\/em>\u00a0glisse le danseur quand Sting cesse de chanter. Appara\u00eet l\u00e0 dans toute sa splendeur ce qui fut d\u00e9sign\u00e9 comme la mouvance principale de la danse fran\u00e7aise des 90\u2019s, initi\u00e9e par Bel\u00a0: la <em>non-danse<\/em>. Une non-danse qui irrita bon nombre de critiques et spectateurs \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque et qui ce soir encore semble passablement gonfler les spectateurs qui m\u2019entourent. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Il danse quand\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> chuchote l\u2019un deux \u2026 comme si les nombreux extraits dans\u00e9s dans le silence ne suffisaient pas \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier les incroyables qualit\u00e9s d\u2019interpr\u00e8te d\u2019Andrieux.<\/p><p>Mais comme il le dit lui-m\u00eame \u00a0\u00e0 la toute fin de cette pi\u00e8ce qui porte son nom\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0Ce qui int\u00e9ressait plus que tout Merce Cunningham c\u2019\u00e9tait l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du mouvement sans jugement\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. En nous narrant, une heure durant, son destin d\u2019artiste fait de hasards, de rencontre amoureuses, d\u2019exp\u00e9riences humiliantes ou glorieuses, <em>C\u00e9dric Andrieux<\/em> porte au plus haut cette exp\u00e9rience unique.
