Inspir\u00e9e par la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre phrase de Nietzsche \u00ab Il faut avoir un chaos en soi-m\u00eame pour accoucher d\u2019une \u00e9toile qui danse \u00bb, le chor\u00e9graphe signe une relecture universelle du conte de Perrault (Grimm, et tant d\u2019autres), pi\u00e8ce du r\u00e9pertoire de 1899 maintes fois revisit\u00e9e par des artistes tels Frederick Ashton, Rudolf Noureev et plus r\u00e9cemment Maguy Marin&#8230;<\/strong><\/p><p>Pour le chor\u00e9graphe biarrot, l\u2019histoire de Cendrillon est l\u2019accomplissement d\u2019un r\u00eave. Celui d\u2019une souffre douleur orpheline empreinte de doute et rejet mais aussi d\u2019espoir qui devient princesse choy\u00e9e. Biberonn\u00e9 \u00e0 la version de Disney, m\u00e9dus\u00e9 celle, tr\u00e8s \u00ab poup\u00e9e \u00bb, de Maguy Marin, le public conna\u00eet par c\u0153ur ce \u00ab Il \u00e9tait une fois \u00bb. Il assiste ici \u00e0 une d\u00e9licate version : la naissance d\u2019une \u00e9toile qui danse&#8230;<\/p><p>Thierry Malandain aime le merveilleux, le fabuleux, les douces r\u00eaveries, le magifique. Familier du conte pour avoir chor\u00e9graphi\u00e9, en 1999, les passages dans\u00e9s de l\u2019op\u00e9ra \u00e9ponyme de Jules Massenet, il signe un ballet en deux actes, fid\u00e8le \u00e0 la partition de Prokofiev. Eminemment po\u00e9tique, gentiment narratif, ce Cendrillon joue la carte de l\u2019\u00e9pure avec son d\u00e9cor aux trois imposants murs compos\u00e9s de talons aiguilles noires, sobrement \u00e9clair\u00e9s. Tour \u00e0 tour mena\u00e7antes grilles puis d\u00e9licats vitraux de ch\u00e2teau, ces murs sont un efficace clin d\u2019\u0153il au fameux soulier de vair. Sans bousculer d\u2019un iota son n\u00e9oclassique reconnaissable entre tous, le chor\u00e9graphe propose une vision personnelle du conte oscillant entre tragique et humour. Aux trouvailles chor\u00e9graphiques, il pr\u00e9f\u00e8re les sc\u00e9nographiques. Parmi les plus \u00e9clatantes : le Bal de Cour n\u00e9cessitant, dans sa version originale, la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019une trentaine de danseurs. Par un heureux truchement, Thierry Malandain double l\u2019effectif de sa compagnie gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des mannequins sur roulettes, rev\u00eatus de robes de galas. L\u2019astuce fait son effet, tout comme la vision tr\u00e8s queer du trio infernal du conte : la mar\u00e2tre Madame de Tr\u00e9maine et ses filles Javotte et Anastasie. In\u00e9narrables, les trois gar\u00e7ons, cr\u00e2nes chauves et puants de suffisance, sont LA bonne surprise de Cendrillon qui prend, \u00e0 chacune de leur intervention, des airs du Ballet du Trockadero de Monte-Carlo.<\/p><p>A la toute fin du ballet, comme chacun le sait, l\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne convole en juste noce avec son Prince d\u2019\u00e9poux, sous les regards non plus haineux mais embu\u00e9s par l\u2019\u00e9motion de la mar\u00e2tre et ses deux insupportables rejetons. Mar\u00e2tre qui se saisit d\u2019un arrosoir stylis\u00e9 pour rafra\u00eechir un corps de ballet composant, au sol, une \u00e9toile qui fr\u00e9mit. Cette ultime fantaisie d\u2019un Malandain particuli\u00e8rement en forme suscita, dans les jardins de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra de Versailles, bon nombre d\u2019interpr\u00e9tations. Pour ma part et si je m\u2019en r\u00e9f\u00e8re au \u00ab Ils se mari\u00e8rent et eurent beaucoup d\u2019enfants \u00bb qui ponctue tout conte respectable, j\u2019y vois une Belle-m\u00e8re prenant soin de sa future descendance. Une petite graine a \u00e9t\u00e9 plant\u00e9e, un enfant va na\u00eetre&#8230; De l\u2019amour \u00e9clot toujours de bien belles histoires.
