Form\u00e9e \u00e0 la danse classique en Afrique du Sud, puis chez Alvin Ailey \u00e0 New-York, c\u2019est avec un bagage technique solide que la danseuse et chor\u00e9graphe revient dans son pays. Depuis elle n\u2019a cess\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er des pi\u00e8ces engag\u00e9es<\/strong><strong><em> Shift, Kutheni<\/em><\/strong><strong> qui d\u00e9noncent notamment la violence faite aux femmes.<\/strong><\/h6>\n<h6>Avec <em style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-2); font-size: 1rem; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">Hatched<\/em><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-2); font-size: 1rem; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">, elle parle de sa propre histoire et de son parcours de femme xhosa (une des ethnies sud-africaines) au sein d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 castratrice dans laquelle les r\u00f4les sont clairement d\u00e9finis et dont il est difficile de s\u2019\u00e9manciper.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6>Dos nu, v\u00eatue d\u2019une jupe pinces \u00e0 linge, chauss\u00e9e de pointes, elle suit minutieusement, un saut \u00e0 la main, la corde \u00e0 linge tendue en fond de sc\u00e8ne. L\u2019image est belle, mais pas que. Elle \u00e9voque d\u00e9j\u00e0 le r\u00f4le d\u2019une femme au foyer n\u2019existant qu\u2019\u00e0 travers les t\u00e2ches m\u00e9nag\u00e8res qu\u2019elles effectuent.<\/h6>\n<h6>Mamela Nyamza lib\u00e8re pas \u00e0 pas ce corps de femme corset\u00e9e, bien que son buste soit nu, par les convenances et biens\u00e9ances. Le chemin est contraint et la voie de la libert\u00e9 n\u00e9cessite obstination et foie. C\u2019est ce qui appara\u00eet imm\u00e9diatement dans la danse de Mamela Nyamza. Riche de sa formation classique contemporaine et jazz, elle d\u00e9tourne les codes, les d\u00e9places s\u2019en sert afin de s\u2019affranchir de ceux qui jalonnent son parcours. Petit \u00e0 petit ce corps longiligne, sculptural, d\u00e9passe les rails dans lesquels on voudrait l\u2019enfermer. Il ne s\u2019agit pas de d\u00e9railler mais bien au contraire de s\u2019ancrer davantage dans son \u00eatre profond de le laisser s\u2019exprimer pleinement. Apr\u00e8s avoir v\u00eatu au sens propre comme au sens figurer diff\u00e9rents r\u00f4les, elle devient alors cette femme dansant le peacok (le cou et la t\u00eate vont et viennent vivement tel un paon) au son des musiques urbaines sud-africaines.<\/h6>\n<h6>L\u00e9g\u00e8re et puissante, compl\u00e8tement incarn\u00e9e \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019un Vincent Mantso\u00e9, Mamela Nyamza exulte. Le geste est vif, pr\u00e9cis, les d\u00e9placements glissent sur les airs de guitare.<\/h6>\n<h6>Malgr\u00e9 quelques imperfections ou dissonances de mise en sc\u00e8ne, ou encore la pr\u00e9sence de son fils sur sc\u00e8ne qui peint (pr\u00e9sence qu\u2019elle justifie parce qu\u2019il \u00e9tait \u00e0 ces c\u00f4t\u00e9s pendant la cr\u00e9ation de la pi\u00e8ce), la chor\u00e9graphe nous invite \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute, \u00e0 l\u2019attention port\u00e9e au chemin de cette femme qui est sans nulle doute r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur de celui de bien d\u2019autres femmes sud-africaines. La sc\u00e9nographie est truff\u00e9e de belles id\u00e9es comme ce fil \u00e0 linge o\u00f9 des v\u00eatements rouges se succ\u00e8dent et nous renvoient \u00e0 des moments de vie de la jeune femme.<\/h6>\n<h6>Comme ces pairs Robyn Orlyn, Nelisiwe Xaba, Boyzie Cekwana, Mamela Nyamza n\u2019h\u00e9site pas \u00e0 faire de la danse un champ des possibles. Un art permettant d\u2019exprimer mots et maux d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en continuel bouleversement.
